Kathryn Toomey

Kathryn Toomey is Founder and President of OnPoint Solutions Group, Inc. (‘OnPoint’), a full service trade compliance solutions provider specializing in export and import compliance consulting, training and staffing. Kathryn has over twenty years experience in compliance management, training and consulting in the EAR, ITAR, FTR / AES and CBP.

Kathryn has worked with Fortune 100 & 500 companies, small-medium businesses and start-ups developing, implementing and managing compliance programs and ITAR manufacturing projects in industries such as, but not limited to, defense, commercial, retail, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, high tech and nano-technology firms and non-profits. Kathryn has consulted with the world’s largest electronics and amorphous metal company and the world’s largest defense contractor providing specialized ITAR consulting and training.

Throughout her diverse career, Kathryn has served as a Corporate Secondary Market and Compliance Director for a regional bank responsible for a $100 million dollar financial portfolio. As an Export Compliance Director for a defense contractor, Kathryn was responsible for the companies’ new business entity and developing compliance policies and procedures. She also became the companies’ first female production manager responsible for a $200 million ITAR program. As a Corporate Compliance and Finance Director for a nano-technology and non-profit firm, Kathryn developed, implemented and maintained the compliance policies and procedures in addition to streamlining the company’s current operations and freeing up operating costs to be utilized for technological research and grant programs.

Kathryn’s approach to compliance training, management and consulting is practical, real-world and application based. As a former practitioner, she’s able to provide firsthand best practices knowledge, skills and tips that can be applied immediately into day-to-day operations making trade compliance seamless, highly effective and yielding a positive ROI. Kathryn's unique expertise has helped companies minimize risk exposures and avoid hefty fines, penalties and suspension/debarment of export and import privileges. She has also developed robust training and self assessment programs that help companies gain in-house knowledge of export controls to maintain ongoing compliance. 

From February 2006 through February 2009, Kathryn was the Vice President of the Space Coast World Trade Council, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help promote international trade and provide businesses and industry with valuable trade compliance education and solutions. As Vice President, Kathryn increased membership and attendance at the council’s workshops, practicum's and seminars and was the lead course instructor.

Kathryn is a frequent expert speaker at seminars and events featuring international trade opportunities, export and import regulatory compliance issues, is a contributing author for the International Business Training Institute and an instructor for the Global Training Center. Among other notable achievements, Kathryn also developed an Export Academy for Florida Institute of Technology’s (FL Tech) Women’s Business Center in Melbourne, FL and is the lead instructor.

Kathryn has received numerous awards for public relations, management, compliance and production achievements throughout her career. Personally, Kathryn also makes time to volunteer for various charitable organizations sharing her talents and helping with fundraising events.
